Part of Bond and Des Voeux’s role is to identify move companies with which to partner. As with all of our partnerships, we apply a robust risk management framework when selecting move companies: we identify the potential risk, we analyze it, we mitigate it, and we continue to monitor it.

There is always the potential for some errors or accidents to arise; therefore, recognizing and understanding these potential risks and then appropriately mitigating them is key. Analyzing data from move companies has helped us to understand that errors and accidents are usually caused by a lack of planning, detailed process, and oversight. This led us to begin to address what needs to be done in order to bridge these gaps and strengthen our risk management framework.

In selecting move partners, particularly for complex moves, we need to ensure they are comfortable working within the framework of a detailed plan and with oversight by individuals who are not from within their company’s management chain. The more we work with companies, the more comfortable they are working within our more structured framework, and the greater value they see in the partnership. Our partners have seen that moves are more successful, with fewer errors or accidents, when they partner with us.
